BJJ Lifestyle Academy Wins Best Academy Overall at St. Louis CXBJJ Championships
BJJ Lifestyle Academy/Team Mike Rethmeyer is thrilled to announce that our Jiu-Jitsu team placed 1st Overall/Best Academy at the 2024 CXBJJ St Louis Open Championship this weekend! The final tally was 131 points, with 10 gold finishes, 10 silver, and 11 bronze.
This victory is the culmination of an incredible journey marked by hard work, dedication, and exceptional teamwork. We extend a huge shout out to our amazing teammates and coaches for their relentless support and effort. Special thanks to Fathom BJJ for their unwavering support of our humble team.
This achievement is a testament to our commitment and passion for the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The CXBJJ Championships’ St. Louis Tournament was an exceptionally professional tournament, and on behalf of our local Jiu-Jitsu community, we highly appreciate your organization bringing such a prestigious event to St. Louis.

Coach Mike Becomes a National Academy of Sports Medicine – Accredited Certified Personal Trainer
Coach Mike Rethmeyer’s commitment to self-improvement, continuous education, and deepening his understanding of the human body to assist with his coaching is evident. Recently, he attained certification as a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Accredited Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), aligning with the rigorous standards set by the NCAA.
Team BJJ Lifestyle Wins 2024 Submission Challenge O’Fallon
With 173 points, team BJJ Lifestyle Academy/Mike Rethmeyer BJJ wins the 2024 Submission Challenge O’Fallon, Illinois (April 13th, 2024), a no points, no advantages, submission only gi & no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament.
The medal count for BJJ Lifestyle Academy was:
- 6 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze in gi
- 6 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze in no-gi
- 2 gold in gi absolute
- 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze in no-gi absolute
- TOTAL: 15 GOLD, 11 SILVER, and 5 BRONZE

BJJ Lifestyle Academy Places 2nd at FUJI’s Missouri State Championship
With slightly over 20 competitors in the tournament, BJJ Lifestyle Academy’s adult team secured an impressive 2nd place at this year’s 2024 FUJI BJJ Missouri State Championship. The team amassed a total of 1610 points, clinching 7 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals, showcasing their skills and technique on the mat with a total of 46 victories.
