Team BJJ Lifestyle Wins 2024 Submission Challenge

With 173 points, team BJJ Lifestyle Academy/Mike Rethmeyer BJJ wins the 2024 Submission Challenge O’Fallon, Illinois (April 13th, 2024), a no points, no advantages, submission only gi & no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament.

A message from Coach Mike:

Congratulations to all the competitors, even if you didn’t achieved the best result, the fact that you went there and did it, speaks volumes about your dedication. I appreciate all the moral support and all the assistance on coaching all the guys. My gratitude to Fathom BJJ, our brothers at arms, in uniting our team, hope this brings us closer together. BJJ Lifestyle Academy Places 2nd at FUJI’s Missouri State Championship

With slightly over 20 competitors in the tournament, BJJ Lifestyle Academy’s adult team secured an impressive 2nd place at this year’s 2024 FUJI BJJ Missouri State Championship. The team amassed a total of 1610 points, clinching 7 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals, showcasing their skills and technique on the mat with a total of 46 victories.

About Coach Rethmeyer

Coach Rethmeyer’s passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu began in Brazil as a young teenager. Today, he is one of the most experienced and highly regarded instructors in the area, with over three decades of training and competition experience. He holds the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt under Leo Peçanha, who is widely regarded as one of the top athletes in the sport, having won the CBJJO World Cup (2003 & 2004), the IBJJF European Open (2006), and the IBJJF Pan Championship (2012).

Coach Rethmeyer’s accomplishments in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are nothing short of impressive himself. He is a 20-time medalist in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) and has consistently demonstrated his mastery of the art. As a black belt, Professor Mike has won several prestigious titles, including 1st Place at the Pan-American Championship, 3rd Place at the World Championship, and 7-time International Open Champion.

With his experience, skill, and dedication to the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Coach Rethmeyer is an exceptional instructor and mentor for students of all levels.
